Reflections

"Reflections" places the participant in the role of a disembodied spirit who must piece together fragments of their former life. The narrative unfolds organically as the player discovers and interacts with six key objects scattered throughout the environment. Each object reveals a piece of the protagonist's story, gradually constructing a complete picture of their life and death. The sequential discovery creates a carefully paced narrative arc, with each revelation building upon previous discoveries to create mounting tension and eventual catharsis.

There is a play with the idea of duality within and blatant points towards nihilism, where the character even after being suggestively dead is miserable toward himself, being harsh and unable to let go. Letting go of the body, the highest form of giving up the physical form; continuing on the direct inspiration from ideas of spiritual alignment and religion, where we hear “You are not the body, you are not the mind”, the character’s spirit by itself is stuck in these loops of regrets.

The environment itself serves as both setting and storyteller, with certain elements only visible through mirrors—symbolizing how truth is often found in reflection rather than direct observation. This mechanic creates a dual-reality experience where players must constantly shift between perspectives to fully comprehend their surroundings.
